About Me

Growing up with a lot of chaos at home, I’ve always wondered how it became the way it did. Why was my mom always yelling? Why was my dad so distant? Why did I get beaten? There has to be a better way to deal with things. I went into psychology wanting to know how I could stop the cycle of abuse and how I could still be myself with the past I had.

My Background:

I grew up in Hong Kong and Malaysia and moved to Toronto when I was 19. It was a nice balance to experience the ‘go go go’ lifestyle and the ‘we close on Mondays because we need to rest’ mentality. I am a middle child with two brothers. I did not do well in my art classes. I speak Cantonese and can understand Mandarin well.

My Credentials:

B.A. Honours in Psychology, D.T.A.T.I for Art Therapy and a Registered Psychotherapist, practising since 2018.

My Joys:

My cat- Arlo, food, playing squash, going for long walks and short runs, eating any dessert with matcha or hojicha, eating noodles, dancing zouk, making art, and watching TV.

My Stance As A Therapist:

Compassionate - I’m here to provide a judgement- free space where you can be as you are, as a human who have complex emotions and thoughts and deserving a space to heal and grow.

Curiosity - I approach each session with an open mind and genuine interest, ready to explore all the unique pieces that make up who you are, so we can uncover fresh insights together.

Reflective - Reflection is our tool to make sense of where you’ve been and where you want to go, helping you gain clarity along the way.

Honesty - I believe in being real with you. Honest conversations help us dig into what’s really going on and build trust for the journey.

Empowerment - My goal is to help you tap into your own strengths, so you feel confident and grounded in your choices and direction.

My Mission:

My mission is to encourage people to connect with their authentic selves, as we can all make choices in our life that’s aligned with the future we want to build, as oppose to what the past has imprinted on us.

This picture was taken years ago in Barbados. I wanted to share this picture because I feel this is the picture that best captures who I am. I don’t have to describe it right now, but if anyone asks me what my authentic self looks like. This is it.
